The photoelectric smoke detector is designed for the protection of open spaces in residential buildings. It has a built-in relay which can be used to activate auxiliary devices such as bells, horns and door closers. The relay contacts automatically close 8 seconds after the unit is triggered and automatically reset approximately 5 seconds after the alarm stops. A piezoelectric horn is located in each smoke alarm and produces an 85dB audible evacuation sound when the unit triggers an alarm or interconnected alarm.
