This electrical box extension extends an existing device box when it sits too deeply behind the finished wall surface. It provides a practical way to bring a receptacle or switch forward after installing drywall, tile, wall panels or another wall covering.

Designed for standard 3 x 2 in (7.62 x 5.08 cm) single-gang boxes, this electrical box extension fits snugly inside the existing box. Its adjustable depth of up to 7/8 in (2.22 cm) helps position the wiring device closer to the finished wall.

Made of pre-galvanized steel, this switch box extender adds 3.5 cu. in. (57.35 cm³) of interior capacity. The required 1-1/4 in (3.18 cm) mounting screws are included for convenient installation.
